The dress code is established to help ensure an atmosphere conducive to study. Self Development Academy expects its students to dress in neat, attractive attire, reflecting pride in themselves and in their school. It is the responsibility of both parents and students to ensure compliance with the dress code. We expect that personal appearance be non-disruptive to the learning atmosphere. Acceptable school apparel is as follows:
Grade school students (K-5th grade):
Navy blue bottoms: pants, slacks, shorts, skirts, capris, skorts, or jumpers. Shorts, skirts, skorts, capris, and jumpers should be no shorter than 3 inches from the student’s knees. Yoga pants and/or leggings are not permitted. We recommend belts for slacks and shorts that have belt loops.
White or red tops: long-sleeve or short-sleeve shirts. Any red shirt must be true red (no maroon, burgundy, or orange-red). Polo-style, knit shirts are preferred. Shirts must have collars and be of solid color; no print or logos, tank tops, t-shirts, or bared midriffs allowed. T-shirts with school logos are the only exceptions to the rule, and only on special occasions such as field trips or Fridays.
